The Earth Republic Army was the armed forces of the Earth Republic.





Ranger uniform

The Earth Republic Army used ranks from former militaries, such as that of the former United States of America.


Non-commissioned ranks:

  • Private
  • Private First Class
  • Corporal
  • Sergeant

Commissioned ranks:

  • Lieutenant
  • Captain
  • Colonel


Black coat


Capelet and formal hat

The standard E-Rep Army uniform consists of a dark blue button-up shirt with black or dark grey pants and black boots. Soldiers can wear a black tie with their uniform or a dark grey cravat. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive", "Slouching Towards Bethlehem") Officers can wear an Officer uniform which consists of a dark blue button-up shirt, dark blue pants, black boots, black gloves, a black tie and a dark blue coat with a black baldric belt over it. Females can wear a dark blue skit in place of the pants. ("In My Secret Life", "Slouching Towards Bethlehem") Rangers in the Black Hawks have a uniform variant which includes a military fatigue style shirt with E-Rep emblems on it. ("Main Mission:Chaos Reigns")


Uniforms have a few variations of outerwear. Soldiers and some officers will typically wear a black coat with the E-Rep logo on each arm and a nameplate. ("In My Secret Life") For colder conditions a blue coat variation exists which has the E-Rep insignia and a woolen collar. ("Doll Parts") Some officers can wear a black military capelet with E-Rep insignia on it. ("In My Secret Life") For soldiers, there is a light blue poncho for wet conditions. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive")


Soldiers will typically wear a helmet - a light blue one with E-REP written on the side, either with or without a face mask and/or goggles; a darker blue one with face mask and goggles. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive", "Slouching Towards Bethlehem", "Beasts Of Burden") There is also a light blue turban with an E-Rep logo pin that can be worn. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive") Officers typically wear either a black beret with the E-Rep logo or a black dress hat with an E-Rep pin on it. ("In My Secret Life", "Beasts Of Burden")


Soldiers can wear a black body armor which covers their chest, shoulders and arms. ("The Opposite of Hallelujah", "Beasts Of Burden", "Painted From Memory")



The uniforms feature a number of insignia. The most common insignia are pins attached to shirts, coats and some hats and patches attached to shirts and coats bearing the E-Rep logo. ("The Opposite of Hallelujah", "Beasts Of Burden", "Painted From Memory") Officer uniforms can have small E-Rep logo insignia or large insignia that can either be on the shirt or coat lapel. ("In My Secret Life", "Slouching Towards Bethlehem") A crossed rifles insignia exists used by members of the rangers. The insignia of captain bars previously used in the United States military is used by the rangers. ("Main Mission:Chaos Reigns")


Soldiers often have Data-Tags on them which helps to collect data on their missions. ("Island of Lost Soldiers") Soldiers also have dog tags. ("Painted From Memory")


EMS New Freedom

The E-Rep Army controlled the Stratocarrier, the EMS New Freedom. ("Main Mission:Recovery Mission") They also had a fleet of ground vehicles including gun trucks and troop transports. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive", "Everything Is Broken")



Army takes Defiance

The army was formed from the remnants of the Earth Military Coalition forces when the Earth Republic was formed. ("Earth Military Coalition Confidential") The army maintained Camp Reverie near Defiance as a place to house dangerous prisoners. ("The Opposite of Hallelujah") E-Rep forces were brought in to quarantine the town of Defiance when an outbreak of Viral hemorrhagic fever occurred. ("If I Ever Leave This World Alive") When Colonel Galen Marsh was killed in Defiance, E-Rep forces entered the town and seized control. ("Everything Is Broken", "The Opposite of Hallelujah") Members of the E-Rep Army were stationed in Defiance during its occupation. ("The Opposite of Hallelujah") When New York City was destroyed and the Earth Republic collapsed, the army disbanded and members moved on. ("The World We Seize", "The Beauty of Our Weapons")
